Ads in AOL Mail
Get rid of the ad on the right of the screen
THE LOWERMYBILLS.COM ARE THE WORST, FOLLOWED BY THE MEDICAL ADS AND BURGERS. CAN'T AOL LISTEN AND PUT SOMETHING ALL WOULD LIKE...CARS, BANKS, WATCHES, CLOTHES, NO MEDICAL THINGS, NO OLD PEOPLE, NOT MOVING DATE ADS, NO BURGERS...JUST OBJECTS, BANKS...ALL WE ALL WOULD LIKE??
Please look at the feedback...PLEASE hear us that we cannot stand the ugly man and woman and lowermybills dot com and burger ads and medical ads. PLEASE HEAR US
I am very much annoyed with MacKeeper Advertisements. Could you please intervene so that I can stop getting MacKeeper Advertising.
to block all the gruesome ads and contact ads at the right side of the screen
WHY WHY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE THE OLDER PEOPLE, SOME IN THEIR 90's looking at us when we send mail....why can't we have attractive clothes, jewelry, cars. No one wants to see grandmothers or fathers with stern faces or old people or any people staring at us. Months of posts, and AOL still sells ads to these hated advertisers.
So how do I get rid of the ADS on the right side of the Mails ??
keep raising aol fees & bombard members with ads. Really? Fire the CEO
Gosh, AOL...can't you hear us and give us cars, banks, clothes, anything but the awful medical ads and the WORST lowermybills dot com ads with the people or the pig flying...UGH
I suggest that you give people the option to opt out of that awful advertising screen - it is very annoying!!!
No more 30 second ads before each video
Put the ad on the right side instead of political pix.
Please look at the comments in the feedback post an idea about the right side ads...very disturbing. Please someone listen
Please stop with the old people and the medical things when we send an email. AOL ads have NOTHING pretty or pleasant to look at...why is that? Why can't we have cars, jewelry, clothes, things ok for a teen, kid, adult to see, since all use AOL...why are we stuck with lowermybills and old old people's photos? It is the worst when we send an email.
Give customers the option of whether or not they receive ads.
DO NOT SHOW ADDS ON MY EMAIL PAGE!!!
AOL....we all are posting this and all are saying this....but no one is listening. We don't want to see old people or people in pain or punching like the Lowermybills ads or the auto driving ads today. Can't we on the right see clothes? Cars? Jewelry? It is no longer pleasant to be on AOL at all....
stop these bloody adverts on e mail
move the advertising to top again...this stinks..
GET THIS JUNK OFF THE SITE........
It would be nice if there was a way to block particular ads that are offensive to us. Your current method of selecting ads is totally ineffectual.
There are just awful, and today DISGUSTING ads of viral videos or lowermybills.com after we hit send on AOL on the web. AOL what are you doing? Would you want to see these trashy things...today the Larry video....UGH
ALOT of your ads are inappropriate when most of your users are so young and impressionable. I don't want to see them and certainly don't want my girls to. Should "sleeze" be everywhere I look
I suggest you STOP "customizing" "personalizing" ads on my pc cus this is very intrusive!! I'm going to change my email address and my opening web if AOL doesn't stop playing the same PROGRESSIVE ad over and over (the only ad by the way) on my page!! I got rid of yahoo because of that. I will get rid of you too after 10 years of having you as my main website and email. I'm not kidding!! stop trying to sell me Sh*t based on my cookies cus I'm not buying any ad you try to "customize" on me...and I'll be getting rid of you too for being intrusive and stupid!! what makes these CEOs think this is going to work??????stupid indeed...................
Seems to me that almost all of the posts are dealing with the same issue. Do you get it? Please get the advertising off of the email accounts.
please get rid of the ad on right side of screen. it blocks part of the emai. we are trying to read.
AOL ads seem targeted only to those over 70. We need pleasant things to stare at if we must have them....neutral things....enough of the medical problem ads, dental ads, food ads.....change to clothes, cars, jewelry, boots, etc....banks.
I would be a whole lot happier if the adds on the sides be taken off!!!
GET RID OF THE ADDS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE EMAIL
If aol won't listen and get rid of these annoying adverts every one fed up with this could change providers. That should work
stop putting up rated r ads. just because i visit victoria secret does not mean that i want my young boys gawking at the half naked, soft porn situated women
Bad enough for those of us who pay for AOL to have ads on the mail login page but now they are video ads for Dyson! I have to hit the stop button every time I log in.
The AIM window (under the inbox/sent/etc list) is too small for people with shorter computer screens (mine is a wide-screen and I can't change the resolution any bigger without losing screenspace). I suggest removing the ads (for paying members at least, I know AOL gets is money from the ads, but as a paying member I would like them gone) and after removing the ads, put AIM in the spot where the ads were. that would be much more organized and would require much less scrolling down the list of people online in the buddy list.
STOP flashing the adds, and make them real small. I don't know anyone who appriciates this infraction of privacy. The adds are EXTREMELY distracting. Be sides who has the money to try them all?
How does one stop FB from putting adds on both sides of the screen? One side is bad enough! Even my Grand children hate them ----BAD IDEA-actually WORSE.
No one should have to work so hard to use their computor.
stop the popup commercials! I don't want them on my emails or when I want to read the updates! I am tired of them if I wanted to watch commercilas I'd watch TV.
Since apparently you need advertisers on the main mail page, could you at least contract with a group that has ANY class or professionalism, and not with this gurumedia national enquirer type complete garbage? Please, it is idiotic, poorly designed, grade D. Since your users cannot remove it, could your quality department at least view it with a critical eye and come up with a higher standard?
Really - ads for "better sleep" and "low testosterone" that always have random pictures of hotty women? Does any review these ads as if they were a user of your aol product?
I have been happily married for 32 years. Why are you targeting me with these ads? Uggghhh.
I'm sure we all would like to have the peace of mind to quietly view our Email without the annoying advertisements. Remove all the advertisements from the Email page.
I live in Thailand but I am an American Ex pat and do not read Thai However when I access your video all commercials present themselves in Thai. This is a large wast of advertisers time and money. I really dont know which idiot thought it was a good idea to follow the IP address in a country other than the language that is presented on AOL
Its stands to reason that if someone from any IP address is on an English page that they read and write English but you system is not very good It presents commercials In Thai to an audience that is English. If Google can do it I am sure you can do it
These nes ads pop up everywhere on the screen. It is hard to read an Email if you are bothered by these distrubances.
the adds on here are annoying and they can give my computer viruses if i accidentally tap them. i need u to get rid of them asap like other users say. if the adds stop coming i will regret ever blaming you for my slow computer... but also other websites give me the.... nevermind thank you for reading this i cant wait to see them gone!
I Suggest That There Should Be No Advertisements
Get rid of the ads on right of the screen... I'm sick of looking at the Omama's
can you please get rid of such big adds, it is distracting me.
please find a way to let me know how to remove the offensive singles dating men that scroll on my aol page; i'm married and i don't appreciate seeing them every time I log in;
I and everyone else on AOL wants those ads removed NOW if they dont get removed soon im going back to igoogle and not useing AOL ever again I think its time that AOL users go on a strike dont use AOL until they get those ads removed we are the people that use this site and should get a say in what the screen looks like or has on it!!!! Now whos with me??!!!!
stop idole timer harrasement. Your "new" mail set up, is ugly, stupid
and I don't see any option to enlarge the mail so I CAN READ IT normally. I am stuck with aol'hell due to my email address/years of contacts. I am planing to fight IDOLE TIME, Via UCLA, false advertisement, and aol already lost class action law suit, for knocking
aol users, off line, who EVEN, have his speed connections.
ressit aol'hell idole timer, and it's mailing censoreship.. there is more..
Get rid of the ads on my screen. Obama and et al, is most horrible. I don't want ads; I didn't ask for ads and you are violating my space on my email account.
as I'm not interested in dating women in my area....... these adverts are getting on my nerves.
get rid of the advertisement on the side of my mail and let me see my IM window again!!
some time i click on it and it takes up half of the sceen
How about letting us be able to pull the page over ads that we don't want to see like the obama ads?
Why don't you put michelle obama on a milk carton instead of next to my e-mail page
Show pictures about Nature, etc.
free advertising for a percentage of the sales!! No more, pay per views or clicks but by actual purchases generated by putting ads on here
I want the adds removed from the right side of my email I am tired of looking at Obamas ugly face on my computer.
I want the Obama add off of my screen. Disruptive, especially since I
am paying for aol.
FIX THE BUGS. I CAN'T EVEN DELETE UNWANTED MESSAGES WITHOUT GETTING THIS MESSAGE:
"An error occurred while attempting to delete the message(s)."
THIS NEW EMAIL PLATFORM IS A SET BACK! RIDDLED WITH BUGS AND GLITCHES ALL IN ORDER FOR YOU TO FOCUS FEED ADS TO US!
Do not block mail with ads. Egregious overreach. I pay for your service. How Dare you treat subscribers with such disregard.
I just left the help desk, requesting help to eliminate the advertising bar that runs down the right side of my AOL Mail interface. I do not like it. It is a distraction to have your sponsored links running on my mail service. I have kept AOL as my Internet mail service, but this is making me think twice. I do not believe it serves a useful purpose for me. Could you please look into this and comment before I resort to exploring other options? I have been an AOL patron for many years and would like to remain loyal.
do i have to put up with ad's ? get bloody RID !
get obams school records.
AOL, please be fair and balance! I have Obama's ads on my AOL Mail page all the time.....would you, please, put Romney's ads along side of Obama's ads?!
I am sick and tired of seeing Obama's face everywhere I look!! I have the right to do work or relax without having you force feed me advertisements about him at every turn! Is he paying for all this advertisement, or are you promoting him voluntarily? Romney deserves equal time if that is the case.
And I deserve the right to be able to give an opinion without having to give my email address. I have the right to privacy!!
I hate that I am unable to read my email due to the large add on the right side of my screen. GET RID OF IT!!!!! I do not want to look at The Presidant one more minute of the day.
how about you quit running adds for obama he is destroying this country and the principles it was built on i damn sure dont want to see his sorry ass on my aol screen unless it is announcing his impeachment
I want the old version back of AOL. I hate the new look and am disgusted with all the Goddamm Obama adds. I am thinking about dropping you after 15 yrs !
Remove the ads on the right side of the screen
have the option to remove the ads on the right side of my email page. They are really annoying and pathetic.
how cares about drinks ans supermarket coupons
get rid of the advertisements on right side of page!!!!!
Same as idea 4 below. It is very annoying for a paying customer.
PLEASE LOSE THE ADS ON RIGHT SIDE- ANNOYING- ALSO MAKE IT EASIER TO SEND PICTURES AND VIDEOS IN E-MAILS-
I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER-
PLEASE HELP THE E-MAIL-
Allow us to keep our mail folders window open permanently. In the little window at the bottom that has little boxes that say am, quick contacts etc., allow us to remove those buttons or put them somewhere else because no one ever im's any more and we know where our contacts are!! Remove the ads
Remove adds from the mail page
Everyone hate's add's but if you get rid of them there will be a big change in you're site's popularity! Say the site was at 20% right now...After you remove the adds you could be at around 75%!!
VOTE IF YOU'RE WITH ME TO MAKE THE SWITCH!
Limit ads, people are sick of ads, pop-ups on computer as well as TV ads. I don't buy because of ads. So please limit especially on email page.
Go back to the old format, or get rid of the ads and crap along the right side of the screen.
Provide opting out of ads entirely because we PAY for emails and news. We are forced into your new layout and colors. Uch! Did you forget some people are color blind? Thank goodness for gmail! The same old fonts? We pay more and get less.
Listen I want to check my email not see ads..I didnt come back to AOL to get aggravated if I wanted to get annoyed id stay with yahoo!!! Also these ads which are meant to lure customers its just pissing them off!!! I certainly dont want anything to do with any company thats interfering with my peace of mind when checking my email..I am seriously thinking of finding another email address.. AOL needs to step up now before they end up like yahoo and loose its customer base!! Its about keeping us happy and we are CLEARLY NOT!!!!
Get rid of the advertising on the right side of the screen. It takes up too much screen real estate and it gets blocked by my company anyway.
get advertising strip off!!!!!
Get rid of streaming ads on my AOL screen
THIS IS ANNOYING.
Get rid of it!
put it back the way it was
Place the right panel ad on top or on the bottom, please. Or, give me the opportunity to collapse the ad. It is very time consuming to have to move the page in order to read the entire email.
Place an X in all pop-ups so I can close them. I do not like being forced to look at them.
When I send an email, I want to see the inbox directly. If I'm replying to emails, I want to be able to do that without having to click a "back to inbox" button every time.
I don't like the new abbreviated "sender name" too difficult to identify without highlighting.
I don't like the new abbreviated "sender name" too difficult to identify without highlighting.
My mail categories get taken over by full page ads all the time when the box is empty. This constant barrage of ads is overriding the usefulness of AOL.
If I am paying for my subscription, who is goin to pay me for advertising on my webpage?
Peter Hoffmann commented
Advertisements on the top of the email screen are very annoying. Please stop this practice. Especially for paying customers.
Sick of getting ads with gross pictures on right of screen. Also very annoying that my mail categories get taken over by full page ads all the time when the box is empty. This constant barrage of ads is overriding the usefulness of AOL.
As an independent in my political views I have "put up" with AOL's move to use the biased Huffington Post. Now with adds in my mail box of which I keep clean and up to date, I'm being inundated with adds. Do I have to play defense and leave at least one e-mail so I don't have to be exposed to this obnoxious activity. I understand the company looking for income pockets, but as a member paying (client), I'm looking at taking the leap of changing my e-mail address to another company or at least becoming a "free" member.
I'm heterosexual happily married male. Yet I'm now getting ads from dating site cupid.com suggesting how I can link up with men to date. I'm sure somebody can come up with a funny comment, but this is really objectionable, incorrectly targeted and seems a step too far to randomly target people (who may be in relationships) with unwelcome dating site invitations.
so many comments and yet you people sit and laugh and take not a blind bit of notice. Yes laughing all the way to the bank .
AOL = amoral parasites
never see the adds. please remove them. waste of loading speed.
Tom Glynn commented
When using AOL mail, I constantly get a screen from the following address: http://ads.pubmatic.com/AdServer/js/showad.js#PIX&ptask=DSP.
I have up to date Mcafee software.
Can you tell me how to stop this irritating and constant nuisance?
These ads are a total nuisance to me and a waste of valuable real estate. At least give us and option to turn them off if we want. This
will certainly make for happier customers.
I absolutely HATE the ads you run on the right side of my email, and now at the top (turbotax) and in the empty page after I clear my spam, etc. I can't tell you how much a HATE THESE ADS. I ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER EVER USE ANY OF THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES YOU ADVERTIZE THIS WAY. SO TELL THAT TO YOUR ADVERTISERS!
The adds about our President and his family are disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Do you need the money or are you just stupid?
Please get rid of all the ads.
I will never buy any product that intrudes on my (paid for!) space!
eliminate immediatly that useless and infuriatingly animated ad on the right of the email window---the one that asks if my Mac is low.....
I almost want to cancel AOL because of it.
How can I get rid of that offensive think?
I hate the ads. STOP SENDING THEM!
the ads that keep showing up suck. I will try and find a different provider if I can find one that does not flood me with ads and e-mail solicitations
WILMA CATHEY commented
What is it with the unsolicited audios. PLEASE STOP THEM ON MY COMPUTER.
I hate the ads on the right hand side of AOL e-mail.
I wish the customer could turn this off so i now use Microsoft Outlook 2013 as it was driving me mad.
Just thought you might like feedback as i suspect i am not the only customer who would have liked this choice.
